These Terms of Service govern access to and use of the FamilyNet platform and related services provided through partners.familynet.ca.
By accessing or using the platform, you agree to comply with these Terms.
About FamilyNet
FamilyNet is a private, institution-based social networking platform operated by the Safe Social Networking Society, a Canadian nonprofit organization.
FamilyNet is designed to serve families, schools, educational institutions, and community organizations through a secure, privacy-first model.
FamilyNet is not a public social network and is not intended for unrestricted public use.
Eligibility and Access
Access to FamilyNet is provided through approved organizations or direct registration where permitted.
By using the platform, you confirm that:
- You are authorized to act on behalf of yourself or your organization
- Information you provide is accurate and current
- You will use the platform only for lawful and appropriate purposes
FamilyNet reserves the right to approve, restrict, suspend, or terminate access at its discretion.
Partner Responsibilities
Organizations participating as partners are responsible for:
- Providing accurate organizational information
- Maintaining appropriate internal governance
- Using the platform in a manner consistent with FamilyNet’s mission and values
- Complying with all applicable laws and regulations
Partners are responsible for the conduct of users they onboard or authorize.
User Conduct
Users agree not to:
- Misuse the platform or attempt unauthorized access
- Upload or distribute harmful, misleading, or unlawful content
- Interfere with platform security or operations
- Use the service for advertising, tracking, or data harvesting
FamilyNet may remove content or restrict access where conduct is deemed inappropriate or harmful.
Privacy and Data Handling
FamilyNet is designed with privacy by default.
The platform:
- Does not display advertisements
- Does not track user behavior for marketing
- Does not sell or share personal data
Only information required to operate the service securely and responsibly is collected.

Stripe and Financial Processing
Where applicable, FamilyNet uses third-party payment processors to facilitate partner payouts or financial transactions.
Partners are responsible for:
- Completing required onboarding steps
- Providing accurate financial and identity information
- Complying with applicable financial regulations
FamilyNet does not control or guarantee the services of third-party payment providers.
Intellectual Property
All platform content, software, and design elements are the property of the Safe Social Networking Society unless otherwise stated.
Users and partners may not reproduce, distribute, or modify platform materials without authorization.
Service Availability
FamilyNet is provided on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis.
While reasonable efforts are made to ensure availability and security, uninterrupted access is not guaranteed.
FamilyNet may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time.
Suspension and Termination
FamilyNet reserves the right to:
- Suspend or terminate accounts
- Restrict access to features
- Remove content or users
Such actions may occur without prior notice where necessary to protect the platform or its users.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- FamilyNet is not liable for indirect or consequential damages
- Use of the platform is at your own risk
- FamilyNet does not guarantee outcomes related to fundraising, engagement, or participation
