Frequently Asked Questions

Partner Onboarding & Eligibility

Who can become a FamilyNet Partner?

Currently partnerships are available only to schools and educational institutions. In the future, partners could include registered charities and community organizations that support families.

How do we start the onboarding process?

Begin by creating a basic user account on partners.familynet.ca, then complete the Partner Profile form. This activates your Partner ID and generates your Stripe Connect onboarding link.

What information is required in the Partner Profile?

You’ll need your organization’s name, address, primary contact information, and basic payout-related details.

Does our organization need technical staff to join?

No. The onboarding process is simple and requires no technical expertise. Everything is handled through online forms.

Is there a fee to become a Partner?

No. There are no signup or participation fees for partners.

Which payment processing platform do you use?

FamilyNet uses Stripe, a leading global payment processor trusted by millions of businesses, schools, and charities worldwide.

Stripe handles all subscription payments, partner payouts, verification, and banking security. Your financial information is processed and stored by Stripe — not by FamilyNet — ensuring industry-standard protection and reliability.

Revenue Sharing & Payouts

How do payouts to partners work?

When families subscribe, Stripe automatically allocates your share of the revenue. The funds flow directly to your Stripe account on a recurring basis.

When will we start receiving payouts?

Once you complete Stripe onboarding and families begin subscribing, payouts start based on the specified standard payout schedule.

Currently, payouts are processed once every year, in January.

Can we view detailed reports of our earnings?

Yes. Stripe gives you a full dashboard with payout history, upcoming transfers, totals, and basic reports.

Do we need to handle taxes or compliance ourselves?

Stripe manages the tax and verification requirements as part of the onboarding process.

Will we see which families subscribed?

No. You will see revenue totals only. Family identities remain private.

Compliance & Verification

Why do we need to complete Stripe’s verification?

Stripe requires basic verification to confirm your organization’s legal status and banking details. This ensures payouts are secure and compliant.

What information does Stripe request?

Legal business or organization name, address, authorized representative details, and bank account information for payouts.

Is our information secure?

Yes. All sensitive data is handled directly by Stripe. FamilyNet does not store your banking or verification information.

Are there any ongoing compliance checks?

Stripe may occasionally request updated information, especially when laws or banking requirements change.

Does FamilyNet access our financial information?

No. FamilyNet only receives payout confirmations, not your banking or verification data.

Partner Tools, Management & Codes

What is a Partner ID?

A Partner ID is your unique identifier inside FamilyNet. It helps track revenue and ensures families are linked to the correct organization.

How do families use our Partner ID?

Families enter your Partner ID during sign-up. This automatically credits your organization for every active Family Pack.

Can we request additional Partner IDs for sub-groups?

Yes, if needed. Larger organizations such as districts or multi-location charities can create multiple IDs for internal tracking.

Can we update our organization information later?

Yes. You can update your Partner Profile anytime without interrupting payouts.

What happens if we change bank accounts?

Simply log in to Stripe Express and update your payout account there.

Technical & Integration Questions

Do we need to integrate FamilyNet with our systems?

FamilyNet works on mobile phones, tablets, laptops, and desktops — no special apps needed.

Will our technical staff need to maintain anything?
